    Just a note:

There was once a list of prohibited books (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Index_Librorum_Prohibitorum or http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/07721a.htm).

So far as I can tell, it doesn’t hold as much weight as it once did, but certain things (such “The Last Temptation of Christ”) get “zapped” by Catholic leadership at times.

    Hey guys,

I agree with the beer boycott, but I’m not sure how well we can actually get away from the culture of death in our daily lives.

I went to the local health department this week to get some vaccinations so I can attend a grad school this fall. It turns out that the rubella component of the MMR vaccine was developed using lung cells harvested from a girl that was aborted in the early 60s. This is the only vaccine approved for use in the US, despite the fact that alternatives could be developed from other, non-human sources.

How do you pressure governments and corporations to be responsible while simultaneously recognizing government’s legitimate interest in controlling infectious disease, or, for that matter, Greg’s legitimate desire for a frosty malted barley beverage? The Vatican recognizes this principle of moral proportionality with regard to the rubella vaccine.

Here is a link to the Vatican instruction concerning these vaccines: http://www.cogforlife.org/vaticanresponse.htm

Hah…I just started listening to Rosary Army again. The Catholic New Media conference sounds fun, but it’s all you guys talk about anymore! *sigh* I can’t go, so I’ll be kind of glad when it’s over and the Rosary Army Catholic Podcast goes back to normal…well, as normal as it ever is! ; )

    Another note–
You guys *should* start a book club or something…or even just post a list on the site somewhere of books recommended by Rosary Army…heck, SQPN could do a recommended reading list, one for each podcast!

If you boycott drugstores that sell the Day After pill, then you should probably boycott the ones that sell condoms, which is all of them; and then all the other places that sell condoms, like grocery stores. Opening up a real can of worms here, but could be an answer to any weight problems, or money problems anyone might have 😉

  5. Jordan says:

Boycotting is usually a pretty affective way of bringing about change. But, in this circumstance, it would be impossible. You would basically have to boycott every major company, and that’s just in the U.S. Once you start looking at over-seas companies the problem gets even bigger and more conviluted. The culture of death is so interwoven with our current society that it can’t be avoided. But, it can be stood up too. Our tools are education, love and Christ!
